Social media is having more and more influence on political campaigns. We decided to take a look at who has gained the most followers from sites like Facebook and Twitter;

3. “Cherilyn Eagar for U.S. Senate” – 923
4. “Tim Bridgewater for U.S. Senate!” – 320

Sam Granato does not have a fan page, but he has 707 “friends” on his personal account.
# of Twitter “Followers”:
1. Cherilyn Eagar – 1,107
2. Sam Granato – 432
3. Tim Bridgewater – 327
4. Bob Bennett – 174
5. Mike Lee – 171
6. James Williams – 7
# of Youtube “Subscribers”:
1. Bob Bennett – 54

Sam Granato and James Williams do not have a Youtube page.
How relevant these numbers are remains to be seen.
I note that Cherilyn Eagar is following almost twice as many people that are following her back. So it seems that the only reason she has a higher number there is that she went out and followed a bunch of people in hopes that they would follow her back, and only roughly half have chosen to do so.

One of the ways to see who is doing better on twitter are the new lists. These are not someone following you back, these are people going out of their way to add you to key lists of people they follow. They do not include the many private twitter lists.

Several of the twitter lists Cherilyn Eagar is on have about 500 followers each.
Tweeter, lawyers have a phrase for thinking like yours. They call it “assuming facts not in evidence.” You don’t know why there is a big difference in numbers, but you are pretty good at assuming the reason is negative. Now, can you come up with some positive or is negative all you can muster?
Do not knock smarts. If Bennett had the brains to do the same thing Eager is doing, perhaps you would not say the same thing. And hey, if a candidate chooses to follow me, then hey I have a great thing going for me.
Cherilyn Eagar has 1706 facebook friends
Tim Bridgewater has 928 facebook friends
Mike Lee has 854 facebook friends
Bennett has 2889 friends
Cherilyn has been working on facebook friends and group members, and not “fans” as much.
Lets see how many turn in to delegates.
Yeah, I guess we’ll never really know how much support the candidates have until the convention.
Granato has 457 facebook fans
Mike Lee has been in the race for less than 1 month. All of the other candidates have been in for more than 7. So, I know that all of the candidates have been pushing their respective FB fan pages since I get requests to join almost daily and still after 4 weeks, Mike has more than even the incumbent.
So, if you want to look at the facts, those are them.
Mike Lee is and will continue to show that he is the superior candidate. He is not platitudes or borrowed principles. He is the real deal
